Let’s be honest with ourselves, deadlines? Really? Do we adhere to them? Do I adhere to the them? I thought this last few days would be insightful.

I discussed with the Jeffe of our organisation that we might push to expand our Tercio over the next year. To this effect I would put a call out on the blog for articles and ideas to widen our net. I got as far as a recruiting poster.

Mark duly obliged with a great article on his latest army/ work of art. However, I’m still hours away from finishing my chosen army. The gendarmes for my French Ordnance army were too much like hard work so I decided to rebase their artillery.

As I had rebased I thought to finish their artillery but again, fickle as ever, taking apart all those old figures seemed too odious for the night before returning to work!

Anyway, to base these old veterans was easy; North Africa is barren right? And if North Africa was barren then so to is the North of England, Italy, Mongolia and … erm… Normandy???

So there I was, no article written and no army finished. I needed to concentrate but if I was fixing up old minis then why not add to the tally!

That was it! I was ready! No, not quite! I needed to rearrange my boxes!

Now I had more space and a load of miniatures could be put to bed? But hang on, I love my miniatures but not all of them equally. I had a few too many single Romans and they would help fill the gaping black whole that is my current financial situation( I can’t think where all my money goes?)

It is now Tuesday and I could put it off no longer. The big push was looming! Ahh….

Whilst putting away my minis, there luring me in, were some “ bought on a whim” Heroes of Normandie counters. I am set to play 15mm World War Two with Memoir 44. But what about a game for my 28mm US and German collection??? Uh-oh

I am now ready: I publish on Saturday- we need your input; get ready? Would you like to place a bet?
