You instinctively know sometimes that you are outclassed. Our last game was against the veteran players Nik Sharpe and Dave Handley with their Roman/Armenian combination. There was a faint glimmer of hope as we had faced off this army before. However, we were up against professionals……

The Northern duo placed heavy Roman horse on their right wing, beside legions of”full fat” heavy swordsmen, Armoured and supported. In the centre were the Armenian cataphracts but to their left were supporting Armenian bow and spearmen. Could our infamous five corps cavalry charge sweep this lot away?

Huns are still a match for mounted Romans though

These Armenians would hold against our cavalry horde

I think it may be time to seek a new employer

        Do what I do, in victory I am a mighty and great general, in defeat put the blame on your wretched troops, who if they had just followed your brilliant orders would have easily carried the day.

        Better to cast blame upon your subordinates and clearly inept peers, who bungle everything, than to say the divinities of Fortune are not with you. Besides, you can’t really say, “You have failed me for the last time,” to your dice for the dice care not.
