Three weeks before the next big L’art de la Guerre competition and I’m ready. This is quite surprising as I’m usually painting the night before a competition but this time I’m fielding my old veterans, the mubarizun of the Arab conquests from the Seventh century. Led by Khalid bin al Walid, this human juggernaught of an army is definately not for the faint hearted or casaulty averse.
Army 131 Arab Conquest 636ad
Brilliant commander and strategist( Khalid ibn al Walid). 10 points. Remember , he was undefeated in a hundred battles!
Five fanatic heavy swordsmen impetuous elite. 50 points
Two light infantry javelin. 8 points
Two medium camelry mediocre 12 points
Competent commander. ( Abu Ubaidah ibn al Jarrah) 3 points
Four fanatics heavy swordsmen impetuous elite. 40 points
Three light infantry bows. 12 points
Two Bedouin light camelry LH bow 14 points
Competent commander ( Amr ibn al-‘ As). 3 points
Four fanatic heavy swords impetuous elite 40 points
Two light infantry slingers 8 points
Army totals 24 units and initiative is four

Hopefully Walid will allow the army to fight on a battlefield of its choosing. A strategist can of course add one point to the command value and add one to the initiative roll. A strategist can also re-roll a terrain adjustment roll. But these will probably be forgotten by yours truly on the day of course, I’m relying on the martial glory of true believers( plus camels disguised as elephants!)
“For I bring the men who desire death so ardently as you desire life!” We shall see if the ” religion of peace” can prevail against the Infidels
