It’s a few days before the deadline for lists for Warfare and once again I’m scratching my head. Last year the theme was “wheely” warfare. I thought immediately that chariot warfare would be the army to bring and the proper players brought knights I.e. heavy chariots! My poor Indians were crushed but this year will be different?…….

Ottomans were the answer. Fast moving shooty cavalry with Jannisary supermen in reserve. But, five bow firing horse units can find it difficult to score disruption and the back edge of the table is only two or three evades away.

Serbs!? Serbs would be an excellent ally ! Firepower with a good punch of East European horse flesh. Ah, but, it really only amounts to four elite heavy Knights and they are impetuous. And, the Serbs are unmanouverable! Oh dear, it was looking sad until I noticed that there is no final date on the lists. Germans! A solid Corps of pike wielding Landsknects, supported by Panzerknighten and Hungarians. What could possibly go wrong?
