The fast moving juggernaut careered towards certain death! Yes, it was a lift home with Mr. Lane. But, there was a reason for the old mariner’s ashen pallour, one Sid Ben had brought his The Silver Bullet set-up for a special All Hallow’s Eve…..

The undead are coming…

The Silver Bayonet” is a tabletop wargame designed by Osprey Games, which ties into the genre of fantasy and historical miniatures gaming. Set in the early 19th century during the Napoleonic Wars, the game combines elements of horror with military tactics, allowing players to command squads of soldiers as they encounter supernatural threats such as vampires, werewolves, and other mythical creatures.

The Austrian adventures head towards the cabin.

Players typically create and customize their warbands, engage in scenarios that reflect the military operations. layers typically create and customize their warbands, engage in scenarios that reflect the military operations and the supernatural elements of the setting, and utilize strategic maneuvers during gameplay. The game employs mechanics that emphasize both tactical decision-making and narrative storytelling, making it appealing to fans of both historical and horror genres.

Our first encounter with the evil ones; a hobgoblin dodging musket balls!

Overall, “The Silver Bayonet” focuses on the interplay between military strategy and the gothic horror of the supernatural, offering a unique blend of gameplay elements for wargaming. We had a fine time. The objectives are the key to play. Usually they were advantageous but beware the extra zombies that can be summoned by the talisman.

The cabin is full of zombies deterred the party from entering.
Not so, the gallant French. Msr. Lanne piled in the whole party to swamp the last objective.
Only to be picked to the post by a sneaky Austrian collector of antiquities!

The campaign system is neatly designed and the second game with the Austrian band slightly ahead on experience points although the French had done the lion’s share of the gruesome zombie fighting.

The think “ blue line” blasts the locals.

A great time was had by all. The Silver Bullet is a fast paced and well designed addition to our club list of favourites! Stay safe this Halloween!
