Charles I

“Hear ye, hear ye! My loyal subjects, gather ’round and heed my words. In these tumultuous times, I stand before thee as thy rightful king, thy protector, and thy guide. The tumults of rebellion and discord seek to undermine our great nation, to shatter the sacred bonds of duty and obedience.

For King and Parliament bases fit 150mm hexagons!

“But I say unto thee, my people, that we shall not be swayed by the false promises of liberty and equality. ‘Tis a fool’s errand, a chimera that shall lead thee down the path of chaos and destruction. For what is liberty, but the freedom to do as I, thy king, deem fit? And what is equality, but the leveling of all men to a state of base servitude?

Come gentlemen, to horse!

“We must stand strong, my friends, against the forces of sedition and anarchy. The Roundheads and the Puritans would have thee believe that they speak for the people, but I say unto thee, they speak only for themselves. They seek to usurp the power of the throne, to reduce our great nation to a mere republic, a rabble of self-interested men.

The devil take the sons of Puritan bitches!

“But I shall not be swayed. I shall not be deterred. For I am thy king, appointed by God Himself to rule over thee. And I shall rule, with an iron fist, if need be. I shall crush the rebels, I shall silence the dissenters, and I shall restore order to our beloved realm.

Let our trumpets silence the rebel calls!

“For we are a great people, a chosen people, destined for glory and greatness. And I, thy king, shall lead thee to that glory, no matter the cost. So let us march forth, my friends, with courage in our hearts and the flag of our noble nation held high. For we shall triumph, and we shall prevail, or my name is not Charles, King of England!”

Oh and dear Rupert and Boy!

The first Royalist horse are finally ready! Six bases of “ gallopers” and last month’s single unit of “ trotters”. Four more units in production and then it’s the pike and shot units.

Bicorne miniatures are old favourite with a few new arrivals from Christmas: Bloody Miniatures ( which is also what my current wife calls them!)

So, the project is progressing at speed. Deep Cut Studios are currently making my battlefield cloth and the greatest news: a Command and Colors version for the English Civil War is currently being tested!!!! Stay tuned for developments!

Until Victory!
