Sometimes I wonder if we are in the right hobby. Four minis have hit the bottom of the bin already this morning!

Some progress

It’s bank holiday Sunday here in Wales and just on cue, the rain is giving me a free- refill at Macdonalds….

Let’s go outside, it will be less stuffy!

And then another mistake. No longer was I satisfied with my Nellies, I’d been smitten by mini- envy via Facebook.

Oh dear…

How do you compete? Should you even try?

Faultless!

The answer is of course in the maxim, “ quantity has a quality of its own!” Starting at 12pm I will paint for 24 hours! Nevermind Ironman, Hombre de Ferres is the style.

All done by tomorrow midday?

Join me to see if I make it. 22 28mm minis- painted to the dreaded tabletop standard? My favourite albums are lined up ( Rome and Of the Wand and the Moon naturally!)

Will I be sane? Will it end in divorce? Was I ever sane? See you tomorrow!

My only company for 24 hours: that is if next door’s cat doesn’t join us!!!!

  1. Go for it! 🙂 If it’s any consolation the rain here in North East England is now horizontal! Sadly, if I painted non-stop for 24 hours I think it would only make a minor dent in the stuff-to-be-painted pile!

    1. Warm rain though!!!!!! I may get to the bottom of this pile depending on number of bank holidays!!!

  2. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, always consider of course what a pintalist thought of Picasso or cubists thought of pre-raphaelites. We have nothing on that lot who can only paint in two dimensions-your work is astounding- trust me 😁

  3. Sad to see you supporting an American supplier, try the independents.  I am also painting on a Sunday, the only problem is that the Sun has appeared and there is gardening to do. Back to the painting, I am finishing the Charlie Foxtrot Hermitage to add to my Pantile buildings and as soon as that is ready I have a ruined two storey building from the same range with very little roof. This will complete 5 buildings and I will then need a couple more, The Renedra Windmill is interesting and a windmill is almost obligatory for the is period and setting with probably a store=house/stable and some walls before Colin retires.  I now have to complete the project/s by having figures and buildings for Blood and Plunder, Port Royal and Blood and Bayonets, allowing for both AWI and pre-1806 Napoleonics (Spanish) for the latter game. I have French for the latter period and plenty of AWI.  DO any of your readers have any ideas that I could include to improve the selection and choices Ken .

      5. I don’t have them too often but, yes, they are the best Custard slices around. I know what you mean about the curries but I often cook my own, the butchers meat especially the Rib eye is superb. They also sell Laithwaites wine which is handy if you want the odd bottle, I tend to get mine direct by the dozen, the Black Stump Shiraz goes extremely well with the steak. With curries, Grey Slate, from Waitrose and their Pinot Grigio and Vouvrey for most other chicken or pork dishes although I do like a Champagne or Prosecco with my Fish and Chips (try Trenchers in Whiby if you can get in). For a long cooling drink, Cider.   Jusr finished my Hermitage apart from painting the bell bronze (it comes in a bright shiny brass coulur and needs toning down). I will add an interior sometime probably and alter and a cross to sit on the planked floor I have fitted, just need to find something suitable. Next the ruined building, this will need some more scatter and will also need to leave enough floor area clear for figures when gaming. .  Do you know anyone who does a 28mm coffin, only need a couple, 1 with lid on and one open?

      6. Wow you are quite the conneseur!!!

I got coffins from Black Tree in a dungeon pack? What about Stuart’s Wild West? There must be a coffin maker eyeing up customers ????

      7. Thanks, will have a look at your suggestions.  Not a conneseur but old enough to have learned what I like. 16 years as a regular and 8 in the reserve did help me to make some of those choices, on the way tried a lot of things, street food in Singapore and Malaysia, food temptations but not eyeballs in the Arab states, Greek food on Cyprus and female barbers in Penang and finding Asian women very attractive. 1. you have rumbled my system! I do tidy up between projects honestly!!!! Increasingly now though I keep using the same combination of paints so a rethink maybe in order!!!

haha! With regards to the rain, I read somewhere that Old South Wales gets more rain than the Brazilian forests??? It does seem to coincide with bank holidays though!

next holidays I’m putting on a blog Ironman challenge so get those minis lined up!!!!!

      great to hear from you!
