In these turbulent times, today of all days we need to consider our other life. Make your Valentine’s Day extra special this February 14th

For God’s sake, No!
  • Be Present: Keep your phone out of reach and focus entirely on your partner. This is especially important if your search for “ Amazon bare- breasted archer” has brought up some quite unexpected matches!
  • Thoughtful Dining: If you are a good cook, prepare their favorite meal. If not, make reservations early at a place they will love. Firestorm games do a cheese burger and fries for eight pounds ninety five. Go easy on the garlic sauce on the cheesy pate or you may be painting alone this evening.
  • Personalized Gifts & Notes: Write a heartfelt card highlighting special memories and qualities, rather than just buying a generic gift. Why not recount the last decisive moves of your last tournament game if the conversation fades into glares of mutual loathing?
  • Meaningful Activities: Tailor the day to their interests, such as a romantic walk, a creative class, or a cozy night in. Where was that tank museum? Did you know that all the Lancastrian prisoners were knifed to dead under the vestry?
  • Show Appreciation: Small, thoughtful gestures often speak louder than grand, expensive ones. Nevermind the parcels that arrived yesterday, they were to finish off a project.
  • Respect & Care: Ensure the day is built on mutual respect and open communication. For fifty pounds the local well being spa offers back rubs and facials. Please be wary of cheaper more down market establishments that hold a very different definition of a happy ending!

I do hope the above will steer you though this day of potential pitfalls. Remember without your significant other where would we be.

Happy Valentines!

  1. My wife is very lucky as her Valentine gift is an Optivisor with built-in LED light. Most useful for painting fine details- I mean for anything she might need to use it for. 🙂

  2. Some good suggestions there, none of which I would have thought of! 🙂 My plan was just to ask my wife if she wants to have dinner in a different location this evening and, if she agrees, tell her that she can bring an extra chair into my “den” so that I can still paint while she’s there! 😉

My wife is currently dining with her mother: one is reminded of the sitzkrieg before the invasion of France!!!!😊
