Have you ever wanted to be a hero? Do you ever think that you are made of the “ right stuff?” Then Cardiff Dice Studz have a proposition for you…..

Shock and alarm shuddered through the Ferres household as I watched the above clip. It wasn’t the terrible singing from the lead singer. We all know and love Ian Brown for his voice. No, the worse thing about the clip was that he of the Mancunnian strut and insolence to BBc presenters ( always justified), couldn’t fight himself out of a paper bag.

No after a brief altercation, Ian went for a slap that an eleven year old girl could have countered. And then in true, roadman style the band and security all get stuck in. A dark day for the man who wore a Cardiff city top in a Newport leisure centre gig. The days of the Stone Roses being played in my house are limited.

Don’t we all wish to be capable of walking the walk? This February my son and I have started our adventures on the Roman roads of Wales. Yeah we get lost, yes we take thirty quids worth of Greggs sausage roads but it feels good to be walking where tough legionaries walked.

I’m not advocating extreme violence but there is another way and that way is heroism with 28mm miniatures.

The ruleset is SAGA and the entry point is low. Forty pounds worth of metal gets you a warband. Compare that with your single Gamesworkshop hero!

Each battle board gives you a series of buffs to combat or movement. It’s all very Hollywood rather than historical but it’s great fun!

So for your chance to awaken that inner hero, come to Firestorm games on Friday 27th February and release your inner warrior!
