John is becoming a regular to visitor to Cardiff and we always welcome his attendance. An amazing chance to see a boardgame classic recreated with miniatures.

Rome to left and Carthage to the right!
The mighty legion in characteristic chequeboard formation.
Roman allies: Italians and Gallic!
Target number one: the Romans advance towards the elephants! Can the defenders hold?
Skirmishing in the centre!
The elephants charge!
But panic and stampede is the result!
The Carthaginian general looks on askance: a near miss!
The Roman centre advances on its prey!
The Roman gladii do their work!
The Carthaginian tribesmen ( Spanish and Gallic) cannot hold!

    Despertaferres made way for me but I lost to John even though I played the Romans . However Despertaferres was most reticent as to the extent of his defeat so we can’t compare our respective records. I take it that he lost more comprehensively than me!
