Seleucid II/19 vs Graeco Bactrian II/36
The battlefield was set up using an amended version of DBA to allow a C&C game using DBA army lists: 12 units each plus a leader.

The first in a series of posts from my trip to Firestorm Games in Cardiff with thanks to my hosts for a great day of gaming.
The armies deployed in classic historical style with solid Pike phalanxes in the centre and cavalry and elephants on the wings.

The battle commenced when the saka horse archers advanced on the Graeco right flank and the Seleucids cavalry responded by charging towards them.
The Saka evaded and the Seleucids continued forward with a mounted charge that eliminated one unit of Iranian lancers and inflicted casualties on the other one too.

The battle on the flank was quick and bloody the saka were trapped with no room to evade and eliminated along with the remaining lancers.

The other Seleucid wing advance too with their elephants and the Iranian lancers bravely met them and were duly eliminated.
The Pike phalanxes just watched each other warily in the centre.

The victorious Seleucid cavalry then tore into the flank of the Graeco Bactrians and it was too much for them.
6:0 victory to the Seleucids.
A red block depicts where a Graeco Bactrian unit was eliminated.

More action from the battle day to come…..
