My regular reader will know that I’ve decided to finish projects off! No more random purchases, that was the old me. I was quite content to finish all those old projects off in 2021. Then John G needed a present and despite being in his fifth decade, he was still army less. Enter the ever so collectable paper armies of Peter Dennis. No more trips out to the garage in the rain to undercoat, no more metal and we were back to the days when you close your toy soldiers and there they were!

I had to send to Romania and it would be daft not to get a few “samples”. I was smitten, I shared the newly arrived flats on Facebook. There were some adverse comments but then the positivity kicked in. A Facebook friend, Robert Tison posted his Punic wars collection for To the Strongest and I felt I had to share…..

Carthaginian veterans of Hannibals army.

Dacian army ready to despoil!

Numidian army- a particular favourite!

Robert has mixed in some Italians to depict the Samnites legion Linteata

Greek thureophoroi

Thanks to Robert for providing the photos. I’ll be sending for the Punic Wars starter set tonight!

Can you break a New Year’s Resolution even before Christmas Day?

  1. I’m guessing that a “Punic Wars starter set” is not a starter set for the Punic Wars, but a starter set for all the flat miniature soldiers painted by Peter Dennis that you can get your hands on! 🙂

    1. How well you know me! The good thing with Hanniabal was that he picked a polyglot army too! Not sure he fielded any Gendarmes though ‘just because they looked pretty!”
