Ah the memories! Sometimes we leave the pretence of a scientific simulation of warfare and just enjoy playing toy soldiers. What better choice than the boyhood favourite of cowboys and Indians.

Wargames foundry 28s replaced the Timpo and Britains of yesterday

Mike planned the scenario; the pesky Indjuns ( justifiably enraged Native Americans) had been burning and looting ( reclaiming their stolen property from violent CIS females and infant dupes). Exhausted from their depredations, the Comanches need water but the Cavalry are intent on beating them to the watering hole.

Plenty Lice!
Water!!!
Sergeant Mitchell won’t let no Commanch near that water!
The central column is less hung-ho and takes position on the bluff above the watering hole.
The young braves he’d for the flank whilst Horn Cloud leads the experienced warriors straight towards the Cavalry on the ridge!
On the other flank, the Indjuns dismount and sneak towards the water!
The young braves avoid the defenders and skirt the dismounted novice Cavalry.
The trap springs: Many Lice hits the Cavalry from the rear!
Lone Wolf sees his chance and attacks from the front.
Horn Cloud and Bad Arm skirt the watering hole and assault the exposed head of the column
No quarter is asked or given
The western spur is covered by duelling warriors…
Whilst in the East the more reluctant Commanch take position in the watering hole.
But the Eastern column is content to trade long distance shots and the central column is no more…
With flanking fire and the ridge to cover their approach, the Comanche would surely wipe the command out..
But Sgt Guether held firm!!!
The Comanche were happy to drink deep and water their ponies.

It had been an exciting clash! Mike Lane’s amazing collection with the new Peter Pig rules were a winning combination! A great start to the Partizan weekend!!!

Behind you!!
